Another contract win for Codub Consulting Ltd.
Codub commences the asset survey and barcoding of all assets at the University of East London, Stratford Campus.
Codub Consulting is pleased to announce the award of a contract to carry out an asset survey and bar coding of all properties owned by the University of East London (UEL). At the heart of Europe’s largest regeneration area, UEL plays an integral role in local development, inspiring generations with an enthusiasm for new ideas and new learning.
As part of the contract, all the assets are to be bar-coded. Codub has configured the screens specifically for UELto allow the ability to collect relevant information about any type of asset. The application includes drop downs to ensure data consistency as well as data integrity.
The survey has commenced at the Stratford campus. Following an extensive programme of refurbishment, the Stratford Campus provides impressive facilities located in the heart of Stratford, future home of the 2012 Olympic Games. Recent developments include new laboratories and computing facilities, and new buildings housing the CASS School of Education and the Centre for Clinical Education in Podiatry, Physiotherapy and Sports Science.
Codub will be surveying these new properties and all the engineers are using the industry approved Motorola MC55hand held PDAs to do the asset collection, which eliminates the need for paperwork and all the associated errors and time delays. The MC55 packs the power of a cell phone, two-way radio, bar code scanner, digital camera and mobile computer.
Codub Consulting has utilised the experience and knowledge gained in asset management and maintenance and already UEL are seeing the future benefit of the process. Bar code labels are already been attached to each asset as part of the tagging process. The end result will be that UEL will have a detailed and accurate asset register. The asset register will also provide further information about the condition of their assets.
Finally, Codub Consulting have been appointed to look into various Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to which to import all the asset data as well as implement a stringent maintenance strategy.
