As part of Codub’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, a raffle draw took place on the second day of the Asset and Waste Management Summit to support the OLG Health Foundation and Autism Centre, Kado, Abuja. The draw took place at about 4 pm on 30th June, in the main hall of the NAF Conference Centre & Suites where the summit was held.

Participants at the summit were encouraged to purchase the tickets as all proceeds from the draw would be sent to the Autism Centre. The Raffle tickets were sold for as little as N500 or 3 tickets for N1,000 and then N300 for additional tickets. A total of N28,000 in cash was realised from the sales of tickets. One of the speakers, Dr Waleed Montasser from the UK gave an additional donation of N15,000 making it a total of N43,000, which was pledged will be matched by Codub. Thus, the grand total raised for the OLG centre was a total of N86,000 (Eighty-Six Thousand Naira) or almost £290 (Two Hundred and Ninety Pounds). Most importantly, the summit succeeded in raising the awareness of Autism.

The co-founder of the centre, Dr. (Mrs) Dorris Izuwah gave an insight into the activities of the centre. She explained that autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects children‘s ability to communicate/speak, relate as a social being and play appropriately with toys. She explained the assistance they have provided to many children across the country. It was a very emotional speech and insight into the selfless service by the OLG.

March 2015: Codub CSR – Giving Back (Asset Summit Africa 2015)

April 2014 Codub CSR – Giving Back (Asset Summit Africa 2014)

In the last few years, we have been involved in work placement programmes for people looking to get back into work in the UK as well as student work programme schemes. As a way of giving back to society, our company in Nigeria decided to look at community programmes and in 2014 decided to support the St Monica House Project in Lagos. This is a project that helps Nigerian children who are orphans as well as disabled. Most of the children are aged 6 months to 11 years.

Following the Asset Summit event, CODUB ran a raffle draw for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project for Saint Monica House and raised N59,700 (£220.00). Codub group matched this amount raising the total amount to N119,400 (£440.00). A cheque was presented to the Orphanage on 6th April 2014 by one of our principal consultants.
