We just received the very sad news that Mr. Peter Carter, The British Deputy High Commission in Lagos slumped and died after a ‘heart attack’ in Lagos airport on Tuesday, 2nd September 2014 .

We at Codub convey our condolence to the mission and Peter’s family. Peter was very lively, energetic and full of humour. He worked tirelessly and successfully promoted the relationship between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. To understand his personality, we have included some memory photos of a very jovial man.

The support the British High Commission, Lagos gave to Codub in our last event (Asset Summit 2014), which was a huge success, was a testament to the type of leader Peter was. For those of you that cannot remember, he made the opening and closing speeches at the Asset Summit 2014. You can also see him speaking in the video on the right of this website www.codubgroup.com

Death can be a mystery and nobody has the answers to why it happens. Evil and death in philosophy are referred to as the ‘Twin Irrationals’ and the fathers of the church said: “The mystery of evil & death are one inch shorter than the mystery of God”.

May the Lord guide his family and the British High Commission, Lagos during this painful period and may his soul RIP.
